The Brief
With the air-cooled chiller reaching end of life our client needed to replace the buildings only source of cooling before the summer period whilst not affecting tenants’ conditions during normal working hours.
Mitigate risk and schedule in road closures which required shutting down the entire street to allow for complex crane lift with a long reach to the rooftop structure.
Our solution
Greenstar sourced a suitable air-cooled chiller that was a suitable capacity, weight loading, frame size along with reduced current draw to enable a fast installation with minimum downtime
The results
The existing machine was decommissioned on a Friday afternoon, with scheduled road closures in place the old chiller was removed, and the new machine landed on a Saturday morning.
Once successfully landed new pipework, controls and electrics were installed connected and commissioned over the remainder of the weekend. With the Machine powered up and pre commissioning completed the plant was operational on the Monday morning.
