
With downtime needing to be kept to an absolute minimum and the craneage requiring a full day road closure it was decided to replace both chillers and associated pumps at the same time over one weekend which was scheduled well in advance, significant pre works were carried out including Controls, Mains earth upgrades, Pre Fabrication of Chiller Sub Frames and Chiller water pipework to ensure that the changeover was able to be completed as quickly and safely as possible with the view of the old chillers being isolated 2pm on the Friday afternoon and at least chiller 1 to be online and in commissioning phase by the Monday morning ready.
With both chillers being landed by 5pm Saturday afternoon, our trades got to work completing the new installation to meet the Monday morning deadline, all required works were completed by 2pm Sunday afternoon with commissioning taking place Monday morning with completion of minor works during the following weeks which has resulted in a reliable cooling system for the foreseeable future, all carried out with minimal tenant disruption and a quality installation.
