Remove ageing air cooled chillers and replace with water cooled chillers, associated cooling towers, pipework, and ancillaries in a newly constructed plantroom, on behalf of head contractor whilst maintaining cooling to the site over a 6 week build period.
Due to the period of downtime required to complete these works a temporary hire chiller was landed, chilled water pipework diverted and connected and existing chiller cabling from one chiller rerouted to provide cooling for the duration of this project. Once the hire machine was in place all equipment was decommissioned and removed to allow for a construction of a new plantroom in place of the existing outdoor chiller compound. With the new concrete plinths set, all new equipment was landed, and pipework, controls and electrics installed. All plant was pre-commissioned with the final cut over and commissioning occurring over a long weekend period to ensure all systems were operating prior to the next working day.
The final result was a functional plantroom with reliable and efficient equipment that will provide many years of trouble free and economical operation.
